<p>American born Miss Grace Gibson brought the first radio transcription programmes to Australia in 1934 and remained to play a leading role in the Australian Broadcasting Industry. She commenced GRACE GIBSON RADIO PRODUCTIONS in 1944 and it was the only production company to continue recording radio drama after the advent of Television through to the 1990’s.<br />
Radio Dramas and Serials provided great entertainment for households throughout Australia. This classic collection provides samples of the “half hour” format.<br />
Grace Gibson was awarded the Order of Australia in 1987. She passed away quietly in 1988 at her Sydney home.</p>

A major part of her success was Reg Johnston who cast and directed four of the programmes included in this package – NIGHT BEAT, DRAGNET, SILVER WEDDING and THERE’LL ALWAYS BE A ROBIN. Sadly he died in 1951 at the age of 32. Grace Gibson was awarded the Order of Australia in 1987. She passed away quietly in 1988 at her Sydney home. This collection was selected by Reg James who has been associated with Grace Gibson Productions since 1946.</p>
